Robert Ord
Professor Robert Ord, BDS, MB BCh (Hons), FRCS, FACS, MS, MBA.
Professor Ord trained in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the United Kingdom and became a Consultant at Sunderland District General Hospital in 1985. He moved to the University of Maryland in 1989 where he is currently the Chairman of the Department of OMFS and Associate Dean for Faculty Development at UMSOD. His clinical expertise is in the field of surgical oncology of the head and neck region especially cancer of the oral cavity and jaws, and tumors of the salivary glands. Professor Ord’s research interests are also in oncology, premalignant lesions and benign tumors. He has published 3 books, 63 book chapters and 132 peer reviewed papers. He is currently the section editor for oncology for IJOMS and sits on 4 other Editorial boards. He is a founding Fellow of IAOO and AACMFS.
